In “A Bold Artist, a
Quiet Texas Town and the Heritage of the Borderland”, by Serena Solomon
from the New York Times. Solomon talks about an artist by the name of Michael
Tracy, this man from Texas had moved down to the border to a small town called
San Ygnacio. Tracy was known for his art, but after moving to San Ygnacio, he
became known for another thing, the restoration of the San Ygnacio’s historic
architecture. Solomon talks about the efforts that Tracy went through in order
for the restoration to take place. Solomon also talks about how for some reason
the resident did not like Tracy even though he restored their heritage. “He can be warm, hospitable and funny, but
also hotheaded and bossy — a cyclone of a person. “I don’t know anyone that
loves him,” said Eduardo Botello…” Said Solomon
with a quote from one of the residents.
