Chinese TV Gala Causes Uproar

Even though the Chinese have done a lot to help African countries, people are outraged at the use of blackface in one of their sketches for the Lunar New Year. "It's full of racism; it makes me feel like I'm living in the last century. We are going to lose face internationally" stated a Chinese citizen. Apparently this is not the first use of blackface by Chinese actors and programs. They say it’s because they are not as familiar with the history of slavery and have not had the experiences Americans and Europeans have had with the black community. They have since blocked the TV gala and don’t know when they will resume based off of the criticism.
