Julie Jacobo and Morgan Winsor are experienced journalist that write about the horrible tragedy that occurred this Valentine’s Day in Florida.
Winsor and Jacobo start the article by identifying Nikolas Cruz, 19, the
student who shot and killed 17 people at a South Florida high school. Winsor
and Jacobo speak about the suspect and him hearing “demonic” voices in his head
that told him to carry out the shooting of this school. Both Winsow and Jacobo has
background information on Cruz
showing he was violent before the attack and they both wrote the article in
such a manner where it leads one to believe they wish he was apprehended after
this first incident and question why nothing was done. “It is unclear what the result
of the threat assessment was or whether one was even conducted.” The authors end the
article by stating Cruz had been found guilty on 17 counts of premeditated
murder and that multiple vigils were held for the victims of this gruesome attack.
