Award winning creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss announce their project to produce and write a new saga of Star Wars films separate from the main Star Wars continuity.
“We are honored by the opportunity, a little terrified by the responsibility, and so excited to get started as soon as the final season of Game of Thrones is complete” (David Benioff and D.B. Weiss in a joint statement).
Mike Shields expresses interest in the upcoming project on Twitter with the statement, "I trust the Thrones guys more than the Last Jedi guy...", also implying his stance on the quality of the most recent Star Wars film (directed by Rian Johnson).
