A video posted by a hired escort showing potential bribery
in the Russian government has been viewed over 5 million times as of Wednesday
February 14. The video posted shows the deputy Prime Minister with an official
that had ties to the Russian President, talking about what could potentially be
inside news on the 2016 U.S. election. The Russian government threatened both
YouTube and Instagram to take down the videos but it took days for either site
to comply. “The media seized upon Navalny’s information attack and began
illegally republishing private photographs.” Because of the delay in the
request to take the media posted down, the Russian government wants to shut
down the sites all together.
