We're only 7 weeks into 2018 and theres already been eight school shootings in the US that have resulted in injury or death. On Valentines day a student shot up Parkland high school in Florida killing 17 people. Earlier this year a 15 year old student in Kentucky opened fire at a high school killing 2 students and leaving 18 injured. Early this February in Los Angeles one student was shot in the head and another in the arm when a concealed fire arm in fellow students backpack went off. While the media tends to cover only the worse of these shootings "other incidents have been grave but on a smaller scale."
