Another Future Internet Option?

Both The Washington Post and The Verge, as well as numerous other sources, recently reported on the planned launch of 2 test rockets by SpaceX, Elon Musk’s aerospace corporation. SpaceX plans to launch a network of around 12,000 satellites with the intention to deliver satellite internet around the globe. The reason is obvious as stated in the Washington Post article “More than half of the world’s population still doesn’t have an Internet connection, according to a 2017 United Nations report. Of those people, about six in 10 live in the Asia-Pacific region, while two in 10 live in Africa.” The corporation expects to begin launching the actual satellites to be used in the network next year.
