Hot chicken originated in Nashville Tennessee and was unknown to the rest of the world. What was only popular in small black communities of Nashville is now becoming a national sensation. Hot chicken is fried and smothered in a sauce consisting a multiple spices. Hot Chicken has been around for a long time, it "predates the first buffalo wing by three decades". While in Nashville Danny Chau learns that the back story of the first hot chicken restaurant is one of revenge. Princes Hot Chicken Shack is named after Thornton Prince. As the story goes his girlfriend made him fried chicken after a late night of partying and "caked on the most volatile spices she had in the pantry". But to her disappointment he loved it, and the rest is history.
