Family Gathers for the Women's March

Photojournalist Andrea Bruce posted this image to her Instagram on January 21. In the caption for the photo Bruce explained that "Asia Davis, of Davenport, Fla., marched with her stepdaughters Zayda, Zoey and Zailey Martin. They took time before the march to read President Abraham Lincoln’s words at the Lincoln Memorial." She also included a quote from Asia Davis stating "I'm here for myself, my beautiful girls, other women of color and women who might not have the opportunity to be here". This image is a wonderful illustration of the women who attended the march in January to raise their concerns and let their voices be heard. The image of this woman with her daughters is a powerful way to show how important this march was to women of multiple generations. [1 image, 1 link, 2 quotes, 131 words]
