After USA snowboarder Shaun White won his third Olympic gold, there was a mandatory press conference. White has participated in four Olympics with 2014 being the only year he did not win a medal in the halfpipe event. During the press conference, no female reporters were called on to ask questions, despite some having their hands up the entire time. There are suspicions that this was purposeful as White has previously been sued for sexual harassment and at least one of the female reporters had written an article about the case. The case was brought forward by an ex-band-mate of White’s and was settled for an undisclosed amount. He has been criticized, but later apologized for saying "You know honestly I'm here to talk about the Olympics not, you know, gossip..” about the allegations.
