Fighting For the Truth

With all this talk about "Fake News" in the media today it's easy to forget that there are still real journalists out there.  In fact the Committee to Protect Journalists reports that there are currently 262 journalist in prison for seeking out the truth. The top 3 countries imprisoning the most journalists are Turkey (73), China (41), and Egypt (20).  One example of the corruption among these governments that stood out to me was when an Istanbul court ordered the release of 19 journalist, “but the prosecutor appealed and the journalists were rearrested before they left the jail. The judges who ordered their release were suspended.” Truly makes you appreciate the freedoms we have in this country.
