FSU Tradegy

In the article about what happened after three universities, most recently Florida State University suspended Greek life on campus after tragic deaths. Fernanda Zamudio-Suaréz writes about four universities in particular that have had a ban on Greek life in the past due to the death of a pledge or member of their fraternity/sorority. Two of the universities that have banned Greek life in the past that both reside in states next to one another are University of Virginia and West Virginia University. Clemson University and Florida University banned Greek life for a semester or two as well as adapting new fraternity rules due to the deaths of students attending Greek life events. “required fraternities to use risk-management rules to curb alcohol use. For example, fraternity members who were 21 and older were limited to bringing just one six-pack of beer to events.” By the tone of Fernanda I am able to feel as if she wants Greek life banned due to the recurring deaths due to alcohol.
