Scott Detrow joined NPR in 2015. His main
focus has been that of a congressional correspondent, covering presidential
elections and such which included Donald Trump’s campaign in 2016. Recently
though he covered Trumps immigration strategy. Detrow begins on how the White
House seems to be heading for the democratic approach that would support a
possible 10 to even 12-year path to citizenship in the U.S. Furthermore, Detrow
states that, “they want to limit family considerations” regarding the visas
that could be granted would only be granted to the parents and children. In
addition, they want a $25 billion sum for the building of a wall and other
boarder patrol security. Criticism from democrats that Detrow found included
Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi quote stating the plan as “an anti-immigrant
framework” and, the idea that “part of the Trump administration’s unmistakable
campaign to make America white again.” [1 image, 1 link, 2 quote, and 146
