Stethoscopes for Hire



Medical aid in the Middle East is swamped in destruction and patients from both sides of the intense conflict that continues today. But what happens when they pick a side?  Robert Fisk spoke with Jonathan Whittall, a man who spent time working as a project manager during the siege of Mosul gives an account.  At hospitals around Mosul, owned by the Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), a humanitarian organization, patients are identified and screened before they walk in to receive treatment.  Whittall believes that this action “makes health facilities places to be fearedby those not associated with the military or other international powers like the USA.
