A young journalist, Michael Hastings, was killed on site when his Mercedes exploded after crashing into a palm tree in Los Angeles back in 2013. His sudden and erupt 'accident' was under speculations as many believed his passing may have been a product of reporting a story over 'the wrong people'. Michael had previously mentioned fearing for his life as he grew paranoid that the FBI was after him as he had made powerful enemies. Hastings even emailed his close friends and colleagues as he feared that those close to him were going to be interviewed by the FBI. The last many heard from Hastings was a sketchy email that stated that he was “onto a big story” and needed to go “off the rada[r] for a bit … hope to see you all soon.”.
