On January 20, 2017, Donald Trump was sworn in to be the 45th President of the United States. Many people were angry and arrived to protest their new president. To protest, many people gathered and it turned violent. When a "limousine was set on fire and storefront windows were smashed," people swooped in and arrested 230 people (Peiser.) Within this large number, nine were journalists. Since this incident, seven of the nine had their charges dropped but two had to go to trial to be determined innocent or guilty. One of these two, Alexei Wood, was seen in a video encouraging the violent protesters and was probably found guilty.
