NPR's Colin Dyer reported, Constantin Reliu was shocked and saddened to hear his own country would not believe he is not dead. The 63 year old had a hard time convincing customs officials in Romania after his deportation from Turkey that he was indeed alive and of Romanian origin."I am a living ghost", he said after learning his wife filed his death certificate after years of silence from him, assumed he died from an earthquake. Although he is alive and able to prove he is alive, the court on the city of Vaslui refused to overturn the death certificate saying it is too late for this appeal. Knowing he is partly to blame because he stopped communicating with his wife back in the 90’s due to roomie of infidelity. Reliu is left with nowhere to turn to.
