"In Dallas, gentrification has always arrived riding a bulldozer. Poor people get kicked out of their homes and their communities are scraped off the face of the earth. Nobody even asks where they went."
The progress that Dallas is making to take away the old dilapidated buildings and replace them with new modern buildings is being seen as an attack on the lower class. In this article they list the negative views and aspects of development but don't discuss the positive. They easily say these peoples homes are being "bulldozed" away but never talk about the compensations they are given or the horrible conditions the homes were in. We decided to raise our families here because there is a line between the city and the country and we can experience both but we also have to accomodate and build homes for the new families coming here to fill the jobs that are bringing tax dollars to our cities and schools.
