Christopher Wray- current FBI director- came under fire last month when to the Senate Intelligence Committee he described China as being a “whole-of-society-threat”. However, in an interview with NBC News published Wednesday, Wray defends his remarks as he describes China as being the most aggressive nation in acquiring U.S. trade secrets and assets, with the Chinese government working with Chinese companies to obtain this information. After receiving a letter of criticism from a group of 14 different Asian-American civil rights groups, Wray responded to the coalition by stating: “To be clear, we do not open investigations based on race, or ethnicity, or national origin,”
