Ice found throughtout Artic was lower than in recent years.

Artic ice is getting thinner, this year it has hit a second lowest record. According to NASA, "severely warm temperatures drove Artic ice to a high of 5.6 million square miles this winter", scientists are troubled by these low temperature trends and sudden changes in climate. The temperature in the North Pole was more than 45 degrees above the usual temperature in February, it was above freezing temperature, which is unusual of the North Pole especially during winter. As stated by Claire Parkinson, global warming means less ice formation and more melting of ice, this also leads to less reflection of solar radiation which causes warming. The rise in temperature cause stormy weather and many species of animals like yuk, polar bears, artic fox, etc. are endangered due to their habitats diminishing day by day. The article was written by Craig Welch, from National Geographic Channel. [1 image, 1 quote, 146 words]
