American trophy hunters are some of the worst hunters there
are. They go into a foreign country, like Africa, and take pride in killing these
large defenseless creatures. Giraffes are slowly dwindling while hunter some to
claim them for their heads, skin, and bones. They are on their way to the
endangered species list, and African and American authorities are doing their
best to stop the killing, and smuggling back to the U.S. People have not paid as close attention to the
giraffes due to the large decline in rhinos and elephants. “When I was doing
research on giraffes in Kenya a few years ago, they were quite abundant and no
one questioned that they were doing well… This is an iconic animal and it’s in
deep trouble.”
