According to, News' Middlebrook, Free Press' Riley to get achievement awards written by Charles E. Ramirez from The Detroit News, readers can already guess what will happen based on the title. In addition to this, “Middlebrook and Detroit Free Press columnist Rochelle Riley will both be given the society's 2018 Lifetime Achievement Awards” (Ramirez, 2018). This event will occur on April 18 at San Marino Club located on Big Beaver road in Troy. The best journalists who have contributed a lot to society for good causes, attain these awards. It is an honor to attend, meet these social workers, and proud to be attaining this award. Many of these journalists have been active for years, influencing the public for the greater good. One such journalist is Rochelle Riley who will be given the society’s 2018 Lifetime Achievement Awards due to her active leading voice in education, government, children, and race ever since the year 2000. Isn’t that amazing? It’s been a whooping 18 years that Riley has been a journalist and not just for the pay (but for the public’s sake). The fact that these amazing journalists are receiving these honorable mentions as well as awards indicates the level of commitment that has been made to journalism and inspiration for many new journalists to come.[1 image, 1 link, 1 quotation, and 215 words].
