In the past decade over 100 journalists were murdered in Mexico due to issues with freedom of press. It is said the 12 have been killed this past year. Mario Vargas Llosa a journalist says, “The fact that more than 100 journalists were murdered is, in grand part, to be blamed on the freedom of the press today, which allows journalists to say things that were not permitted previously.” He believes that these deaths are a sign that freedom of press is improving but, just because there are more freedoms in what journalists can publish doesn’t mean people will agree with the freedoms.
