Recently six journalists have been imprisoned in Turkey for violating the constitutional order. The six editors and reporters, “are the first journalists to be convicted of involvement in the attempted coup of July 2016, in what has been described as “a chilling precedent” by Amnesty International.” These journalist join the other seventy plus journalist who have been accused of violating the constitutional order. It has been claimed that the six journalists were accused because they sent a subliminal message during a television program that was broadcasted.
