Are journalists really ending up in jail for doing their job? One of India’s journalists was, “betrayed by my [his] own men.” He was just doing his job of gathering information and reporting media in one of India’s most dangerous districts. He was arrested and thrown in jail are reportedly beaten by officers and guards. His interview was conducted from a local hospital. Sources note that the mountain area is known for its dangerous aspects because of the tensions that lie between law enforcement and locals. The area is corrupt due to the religious and cultural tension that currently lies there and journalists shouldn’t have to feel unsafe doing their job.
