Journalists Who Covered Massacre of Rohingya Mark 100th Day in Burmese Jail

Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo, were two Reuters journalists in Burma who were arrested on December 12th of 2017 because they investigated a massacre of Rohingya Muslims in the village of Inn Din. They have now spent 100 days in prison and may face up to 14 years because they were "violating Burma's Official Secrets Act." As Kyaw Soe Oo was being taken away by the police he addressed the media by saying, "I want my daughter to know when she grows up that this is a shame." This was a very powerful statement to tell the media that there was something terribly wrong with the government's actions. This was not the right way for the government to act. This is just tough to see people getting arrested for exposing the wrongs of a country. [1 image, 2 quotes, 1 link, 136 words]
