What does it mean to be a journalist? How do you know it’s right thing for you to do? Well Jenna Goudreau writes on this very topic for Forbes. She gives a list of things to expect and do when working in the field, but something that really resonated with me and I think is constant over all fields is when getting offered a job, negotiate. “In my first job, I didn’t. That was really dumb. I was offered the exact amount I expected and took it. At the time, I didn’t even know I was supposed to negotiate. Always ask for more money. “ This is something I get caught doing all the time, and I know I cant be the only one.
