Recently, the BBC filed a complaint with the United Nation's Human Rights Commission against the Middle Eastern country Iran. The complaint was filed as conflict escalates between the corporation's 152 employees and Iran's authorities. According to The Washington Post "staffers of the BBC’s Iranian-language services — and their family members back in Iran — have endured threats to their safety and liberty". Due to the nation not being able to stop its own citizens from watching foreign news content, they attempt to silence the foreign news content providers by threatening them. These threats from Iranian authorities come in the form of "Direct pressure, intimidation, and threats of physical violence".
