Every day journalists take an extreme risk to bring us the content shown on our local and national news. We don’t realize this but many journalists sacrifice time spent with their loved ones for the general public’s benefit. They often spend months overseas looking at foreign world news and evaluate how our foreign policy affects the citizens of other countries, and, “sometimes the risks of reporting are great.” The places in which they are housed for these months are often less than substantial. We are so critical of our media and maybe we should be more grateful for the journalism community and the people that give up much of their lives to create media for us.
