Police in Florida are using new laws at their disposal to remove firearms from Floridians. In the first case of its kind, Tallahasee P.D. is attempting to confiscate guns from a man with known mental issues. Christopher Mark Newhouse has made documented threats against members of the police department including the quote "pigs got to die" and has, on at least one occcasion, fired an assault rifle illegally in his backyard while intoxicated. That rifle was surrendered for the night and now the authorities look to confiscate the remainder of his weapons.
