The Next Cold War?

"Anything you can do I can do better, I can do anyhting better than you", a popular childrens song taken too literally by the sitting president. Earlier today, President Trump instructed the U.S. Trade Representative to consider slapping $100 billion dollars in tariffs on Chinese goods in response to an earlier statement from China outlining a plan to apply a tariff to $50 billion in U.S. goods. This measuring contest will most likely end unfavorably for both superpowers. U.S. Senator Ben Sasse was quoted as saying "“Hopefully the President is just blowing off steam again but, if he’s even half-serious, this is nuts,”. Something to think about..
