Buc-ee’s will be opening a location around February 2019 in the Collin County city of Melissa, Texas. They have earned a reputation for having the cleanest bathrooms for a public establishment and having unique snacks in stock. They started construction on Wednesday February 7th after a delaying in getting a permit from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers who control a mitigation area on the property. The iconic gas station will be located on the northeast corner of Highway 75 and Davis street. The city manager of Melissa is looking forward to the potential economic development that Buc-ee’s would bring to the growing city. "Buc-ee's attracts 10-plus thousand people a day, and for people to stop there gives a lot of traction and interest in the adjoining properties and the corridor of 75 in general, because people are going to stop, and if they stop once, why wouldn't they stop for something else?"
