Can North Koreans Watch the Olympics?

Yes, North Koreans can indeed watch the Olympics because they have free access to Olympic broadcasts. However, the “isolated people are unlikely to watch any broadcasts” that show in Pyeongchang. A North Korean defector, Lee Min-bok, says that unless one of their athletes “wins a surprise medal, it’s not likely to broadcast any competition to it’s people”. On the other hand, South Korean TV stations show their support for the uniting by buying the broadcasting rights for the entire Korean Peninsula, even though they know that it won’t broadcast to the North. But you know, it’s the thought that counts.
