Controversy has risen after Fox News reporter, John Moody, stated his opinions on the well renowned figure skater, Adam Rippon and his sexuality. Adam is one of the first openly gay athletes to qualify for the Olympics but Mr. Moody does not see this as a reason to celebrate. John proceeds to explain how the motto for the Olympics is turning into "darker, gayer, different". Later that afternoon, Fox removed that opinion piece due to the amount of criticism and backlash from many viewers. Oliver Darcy, a media reporter for Fox News, contradicts John Moody’s statements by stating “ the Olympics are not like applying for college”, inferring that it is not based on race or sexuality.
