Nothing says volleyball like 35 degree weather and snow! The FIVB (The International Volleyball Federation) and CEV (European Volleyball Confederation) certainly made this statement when they rounded up a number of volleyball olympians to demonstrate snow volleyball’s viability as a sport in a Pyeongchang exhibition on Wednesday. Jay Busbee of Yahoo! Sports reports on this as the debate of whether or not snow volleyball makes for a legitimate olympic sport is in full swing, with supporters coming from all over the world. “What we do believe is that snow volleyball is great, it’s about engagement,” Fabio Azevedo, general director of FIVB said. “We want people to be playing volleyball. The future, who knows?” Despite snow volleyball’s taking a winter olympic spot being unclear, for now, it will serve (pun definitely intended) as a great after-party event.
