"Ninety percent of our students are in STEM and management programs. We have a strong base that aligns with Amazon," Benson said.
That was a remark from UT-Dallas University President Richard Benson. Major cities across the United States are competing for Amazon.com’s second headquarters. UT-Dallas is offering 100 acres to lure the e-commerce giant. Amazon has promised that the future host city stands to reap from fifty thousand new jobs and spend fifty billion dollars in building the new headquarters. It could potentially be a very attractive site for Amazon since the area has a large concentration of computer and software engineers. Texas Instruments has greatly benefited from being located close to UT-Dallas since they employ more UT-Dallas graduates than any other university.
