A newspaper executive, H. Brandt Ayers, of The Anniston Star in Alabama was accused of assaulting many different female reporters during the 1970s. He finally "admitted that he had spanked at least one female reporter decades ago." During the time he stated that he was psychologically ill and was seem by a doctor for it. He states the he was simply just following his doctor's advice. The doctor suggested that spanking the women would allow the women to calm down.
