The Denver Channel reports, “the news broke Wednesday that the largest newspaper in Colorado would lose about 30 percent of its newsroom staff, as downsizing continues at the Denver Post.” Many people are upset with the layoffs claiming it affects the community’s economy. The union for the paper, The Denver Newspaper Guild, does not agree with the decision to layoff so many journalists. The guild a couple years ago was able to bring down a 500 journalist layoff to about 70 journalists.
