The Price Journalists must Pay

In 2009, two U.S. reporters suffered every reporter's biggest fear, detainment. Although persecution for articles is common to most journalists, Euna Lee and Laura Ling were physically captured by North Korean soldiers after their attempt to do a report for their independent cable television network. A later source tells us that "on June 8, North Korean media reported that the two reporters had been found guilty of illegal entry and subsequently sentenced to twelve years of hard labor." In North Korea, hard labor also includes routine starvation and beatings. After reading this article, I realized it is so crucial to research the place you are going and their laws before you attempt to produce media about a certain place. The following link includes more information about the North Korean News Agency.
