Americans cannot agree on a lot of issues. Whether it's political, economical or social, it is hard to find a middle ground. Although, I think almost all of America can agree on one thing, teachers deserve more. Maybe I am wrong and making a silly assumption, but these wonderful adults are teaching the future minds of the world. Kentucky, Arizona and Oklahoma are protesting for better conditions and benefits for themselves, and their students as well. This uproar started due to a legislative bill that manipulated teacher's pensions. These teachers are demanding a higher salary and an overall increase in funding for education, something I think most American's see as extremely important. According to the state teachers union, education funding has gone down by 28% in the past decade, and they are not standing for it any longer. "This isn't just about teacher salaries," said David DuVall, executive director of the Oklahoma Education Association. "This is about funding our schools for our students."
