"This Backpack Is Probably Worth More Than My Life"

On February 14, 2018, a terrible massacre occured at most high school student's home away from home, their safe haven, their school. A school shooting is something nobody should take lightly, or forget about. The students and teachers of Parkland High School have gone above and beyond to bring awareness of the tragedy that occurred on that horrific day, and they have done it with complete grace and excellence. Although, now that the students have returned back to school from Spring Break, changes were made, and they might not have been exactly what the students wanted. Is this a start? Only the students and teachers of the school can be the judge. They are now required to have an ID badge on at all times and only carry around clear backpacks so whatever is inside of them is visible for everyone to see. Some claim this is an invasion of privacy, but some see this in a step in the right direction. "We come to school to learn, so I don't think that we should need to subject ourselves to these measures. We shouldn't need to worry about our safety and our security while we are at school."
